Vapers have always wanted to replace the cotton inside their burnt coils. Manufacturers however made sure this process was close to impossible. But today we finally have a company who listened to people and released a revolutionary product. The Joyetech ESPION Silk 80W TC is the first vape that comes with coils which allow replacing the cotton in case they get clogged up or give a burnt taste.

The device is also very easy to use; it's packed with all the modern features and goes up to 80W on a built-in 2800mAh battery.

Contents and available colors

The Joyetech ESPION Silk 80W TC comes pretty neatly packed. Inside the box you will find the device itself, the tank, a 5-pack of reusable coils, a charging cable, spare parts and the user manual. You can get it in black, orange, or brown and the design is pretty unique.

An interesting design choice

We have to say this starter kit is nothing like we've seen before. It's super lightweight, has an interesting finish and comes with a non-removable battery. The Joyetech ESPION Silk 80W TC measures 112 x 40 x 30mm and weighs 140g. It's made from plastic, which might not seem that durable but it's protected by rubberized inserts on all sides. This makes it pretty resistant to small drops and gives the device plenty of grip. It's also very comfortable in the hand and easy to carry.

The buttons are also made from plastic but they have a nice tactile feel. The charging port and display are all placed on the same side with the buttons and this makes the mod practical and fun to use. The only thing that's metallic is the solid 510 connector on top, which features a spring loaded pin.

The board and features

The Joyetech ESPION Silk 80W TC comes with all the features a modern vaper might need. Apart from the usual variable wattage and temp control it also has TCR, Bypass mode and 3 memory presets. Minimum resistance is 0.05 Ohms and maximum output is 80W.

The 0.69-inch OLED display is not that bright or rich in information, however it does a decent job. The menu system is intuitive and the device ensures future firmware upgrades. Also we need to mention the 2A fast charging feature which ensures that the battery reaches 100% in under 1:30h.

The 2.5ml tank with the most revolutionary coils

The NotchCore tank might seem ordinary at first, but it's one of our favorites in 2018. This tiny 2.5ml stainless steel and glass atomizer works with reusable notch coils. This enables the user to replace the cotton without having to swap the coil for a new one when it gives a burnt taste.

You also get five of these 0.45 Ohm coils inside the box so you're already saving a lot of money on the long run. The tank features adjustable airflow as well as simple to use top fill. It doesn't leak, the airflow is super smooth and flavor couldn't be better.
