SMOK Mag 225W TC
SMOK released a brand new starter kit and the design is pretty bad ass. The device is called SMOK Mag 225W TC and comes with the impressive TFV12 Prince tank. Has a trigger style fire button and a really neat sliding door battery compartment.
What you get with the kit
The SMOK Mag 225W TC comes packed in a standard cardboard box. Inside you will find the mod itself, the TFV12 Prince tank with the Q4 0.4 Ohm coil pre-installed. You also get a T10 0.12 Ohm coil, replacement 5ml glass tube, micro-USB cable, spare O-rings, screwdriver and the user manual. The kit is available in a wide range of colors including Rainbow, Camo, Silver and Navy Blue.
Design and features
The SMOK Mag 225W TC mod measures 92mm x 65mm x 30mm and weighs around 265g. Due to its contour fits perfectly in the hand and looks amazing. Has a nice spring loaded 510 connector on to and fits atomizers up to 30mm in diameter without overhang. Best option however is 28mm since that’s also the diameter of the connector.
The trigger style fire button is placed on the side and it’s easy to press. The color OLED display, up/down buttons, battery release button and micro-USB port are on the face of the mod. Due to the positioning of the screen this is a mod perfectly suited for left handed vapers. Right handed people will not be able to check the screen while vaping.
The cool novelty about this mod is the battery compartment. This slides out whenever you press the flower shaped button and has a nice click to it. It’s powered by two high drain 18650 batteries these go in very easily. If the release button gets loose over time, just use the provided screwdriver to tighten it down.
With the SMOK Mag 225W TC you get temperature control for Nickel, Titanium and Stainless Steel as well as TCR. Output is between 6W – 225W and minimum resistance is 0.1 Ohms in power mode.
The TFV12 Prince sub ohm tank
The TFV12 Prince tank is one of the best we tried so far and it’s a real beast in terms of vapor production and flavor. Has adjustable airflow on the bottom and features swivel top fill. Has a diameter of 28mm and capacity is 8ml with the bulb glass. When you swap it with the standard glass, capacity drops to 5ml.
The 0.4 Ohm coil is best used between 40 – 80W but can go all the way up to 100W as long as you don’t chain vape. The 0.12 Ohm coil on the other hand offers warmer vapor and it’s best used between 60 – 110W. You can also buy an RBA section separately if you want to build your own coils.
Performance
Performance on the SMOK Mag 225W TC is off the charts. This high power starter kit delivers amazing clouds and the flavor is phenomenal. Copes with high VG e-liquids perfectly and the coils are very good. Feels nice in the hand, has an interesting design and the color OLED display is a big pro. We really like the push and release battery compartment and has enough tension so you don’t accidentally press on it.
