Aspire Nautilus X Tank

Since the release of the Nautilus Mini and maybe the Triton Mini, Aspire haven’t really done so much for their mouth to lung customers so we were more than thrilled when we heard the news about this brand new product they were ready to release. The Aspire Nautilus X Tank is the company’s latest MTL atomizer and it’s something clearly intended for all the Nautilus fans out there.

If you’re not familiar with the Nautilus it was voted one of the best tanks of 2014 and it’s still available to purchase all over the world. Its coils have been used on a variety of other products like the Triton Mini, the Plato and the Kabuki and they are still rated pretty high in terms of flavor and vapor production (in mouth to lung standards, of course).

The Aspire Nautilus X comes packed in a bubble shaped transparent hard plastic box and inside you will find the tank itself (fitted with a 1.8 Ohm coil), a spare Pyrex glass tube, and a spare 1.5 Ohm coil. The atomizer is made from top quality Stainless Steel and glass and it feels solid and flawlessly machined. It has clearly bowered some of the design features from its bigger brother the Cleito, especially when it comes to the coils and the chimney-less operating mode.

The Aspire Nautilus X is 45mm tall with a diameter of 22mm, with an ultra low profile design. It has a total capacity of 2ml of e-juice (thus making it compatible with the European TPD law) and it comes with the same type of sleeve Delrin drip tip like on the Cleito. The coils are pretty big in comparison with the old Nautilus style coils and they have a revolutionary airflow system that allows for great flavor all the time.

The U-tech airflow design involves the positioning of the air intake mechanism at the top of the tank and the placement of eccentric holes into the coils for air to circulate in a “U” pattern inside the device. This boosts flavor and because of the coils and top airflow it reduces the changes of leaking to the minimum. And speaking about the coils, they have very big e-liquid feeding holes considering their mouth to lung nature and – just like on the Cleito – the flavor seems to get better and better each time you refill the tank.

And just in case 2ml of e-juice won’t do it for you, Aspire have recently released an expansion kit for the Nautilus X which include a 4ml glass tube and an extension for the chimney to accommodate the extra volume of liquid. At twice the capacity this tank is bound to last for at least 2-3h before requiring a refill and considering it’s a top fill device, the whole procedure is done with great ease.

In terms of performance, the Aspire Nautilus X doesn’t have as tight of a draw as the original Nautilus, or the Nautilus Mini but it’s still a great tank for mouth to lung vapers. At 13.5W with the 1.8 Ohm coil and at around 16W with the 1.5 Ohm coil flavor was exactly how we expected it to be and vapor production was pretty good. It’s a pretty good deal since these coils tend to last for a very long time (sometimes even 3 weeks) and it’s the type of low profile tank that goes great on any stealthy mod.
